Important Election dates
Party Change Deadline– December 31, 2024, 4 pm (local time). December 31, 2025–Party changes made after 12-31-25 mark a voter ineligible for the 2026 Primary.
Candidate Filing Deadline for 2024 Primary– June 4, 2024, 4 pm (local time).
Public Draw for 2024 Primary Ballot Position–June 6, 2024, 2 pm – Fiscal Courtroom, 100 S Main Street, Greenville, KY.
Registration Deadline – October 7, 2024 (4 PM, local time) – Must be postmarked by 10/7 or in possession of Clerk’s office by 4 pm on 10/7/24.
Registration Books Closed – 10/08/24 through 11/11/24.
Mail-in Absentee Ballot – Saturday, September 21st, 2024 – online mail-in absentee request portal to open (45 days before election).
Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024 – online mail-in absentee request portal to close (14 days before the election) at 11:59 pm.
Ballots for the November 2024 General may be returned by mail, or to the secure drop box located inside the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours of 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday-Thursday and 8:00 am – 5:00 pm on Friday.
Ballots must be received by the County Clerk’s office by November 5th before 6:00 pm.
In-Person Excuse Absentee – October 23rd-25th & 28th-30th, 2024 from 8 am to 4 pm daily at the Courthouse, 100 S Main Street, Greenville, KY.
In-Person No Excuse Absentee – October 31st & November 1st & 2nd 2024 from 8 am to 4 pm daily at the Merle Travis Center, 750 Cleaton Road, Powderly, KY.
Election Day – November 5th, 2024.
